Our Lab and Pharmacy An Ounce of Prevention is Worth Ten Thousand Pounds of Cure.
In the last five decades, medicine has found solutions for many of
the diseases that shorten American lives, such as heart disease, cancer
and diabetes. However, the solutions themselves are pretty strenuous.
Surgery, drugs, radiation, daily injections and chemotherapy top the
list.
At LifeWorks Wellness Center, we're all about prevention. It's what
we live and breathe, all day long. Yes, we can fix you up if you get
sick or hurt. But what we're really about is finding out exactly what
may stand between you and a long healthy life. We can find out, even
when the damaging condition has not made itself known, and wouldn't
until it brought a person to their knees. Prevention means never having
to take advantage of medicine's modern miracles.
Sometimes the repair action is fairly simple: A nutritional program
may be all that is needed to set things right. And sometimes the answer
is more elusive. Many of our patients come to us when other doctors
have failed to give them what they wished for most: vigorous health.
One of our greatest joys is to see someone finally able to get out of
bed, out of a wheelchair, and back into joyful life.
The Key to our Success At LifeWorks, the Key is diagnosis.
And the key to fast and effective diagnosis is our sophisticated battery
of tests. The results of
these tests give our practitioners exactly what they need to get
the message your body
would really like to send, if only it could. With this full battery
of tests, we can usually see the complete picture of your health
at its most fundamental,
cellular level. Treatment programs become simpler, more direct
and efficient, and they can actually cost much less than programs
developed without testing.
Diagnostic Lab Tests:
Overall Physical Health and Risk Factors
The Detailed Health Screen is actually a series of nineteen
or twenty tests. (Men receive an additional test for prostate health.)
The results of this screen paint a comprehensive picture of overall
health and specific points of future risk. The functions of most of
the major and critical systems are represented: liver, kidney, thyroid,
and pancreas function, heart health risks, a thorough review of blood
health and function, and tests for the presence of infections.
Digestive Integrity Analysis
Your stomach and intestines are the "machines" that turn your
meals into absorbable nutrients or fail to do so. Too little digestive
enzymes or too few friendly bacteria can not only impede digestion and
lead to malnutrition (no matter how well you eat!) they can also cripple
your ability to fight disease and infections. The Comprehensive Digestive
Stool Analysis evaluates the entire scope of your gastrointestinal function:
digestion, absorption, bacterial balance, parasites and immune status.
Cellular Nutritional Analysis
Even if you eat well and take supplements, you can be poorly
nourished if your cells can't utilize the raw materials. Also, your
body's special needs affected by age, lifestyle, stress and developing
illness create higher nutritional demands. Find out what's happening
to the nutritional supply inside your cells - where it really matters.
The Intracellular Vitamin Analysis (Intra = within, inside) reaches
all the way into your white blood cells and sees just how well nourished
they really are, compared to the supply your body needs. The precise
program to correct any deficiencies can help your body fight degenerative
processes such as arthritis, cancer, cardiovascular disease and diabetes,
to name a few.
Breast Cancer Predisposition
A woman's body creates several types of estrogen. Some of these
estrogens undergo a further conversion. One step in this conversion
process can produce either a dangerous product that can help tumors
grow and spread, or it can produce a different product that helps protect
against cancer. Each particle of estrogen has sixteen points to which
an oxygen/hydrogen molecule can link. If it links to site 16, a woman
is at increased risk for breast cancer. If it links to site 2, she has
more protection against breast cancer. A simple urine test can determine
the ratio of site-2 conversion to site-16 conversion that's occurring
in your body. This test is called the 2/16 OH Estrogen Ratio (OH = oxygen/hydrogen).
Liver Detoxification Challenge
Your entire defense mechanism against environmental, infectious,
food-borne or drug toxins is centralized in your liver. The stronger
your liver function, the purer your blood, the more resistant you are
to disease and infection. The Detoxification Profile measures your liver's
ability to eliminate two commonly encountered toxic substances: caffeine
and aspirin. The results of this test reveal how well your liver meets
this challenge, showing weaknesses that may indicate or precede illness,
sometimes years before indications would be apparent in regular blood
tests.
Essential Mineral Analysis
A detailed mineral aalysis of the blood, called the red blood
cell mineral anaysis, can helpprovide the
vital missing link of information that may help us to correctly
evaluate and treat depression, muscle spasms, osteoporosis,
inflammation, hypoglycemia, anemia, diabetes, vision loss,
hearing disorders,
insomnia, irritability and many other
conditions
24-Hour Hormone Analysis
Hormone imbalances have been linked to a wide variety of symptoms
and illnesses in both men and women. A 24-hour hormone analysis provides
a more accurate picture than a single sample, as hormones are often
excreted in sudden bursts. With the Comprehensive Hormone Profile, both
men and women can discover the hidden cause for fatigue, growth and
weight problems, high blood pressure, sleep disorders, headaches and
decreased sexual drive, among other problems.
